Delcam Announces Programme for 2013 Orthotics Technology Forum

The full programme has now been finalised for the 2013 Orthotics Technology Forum, which will be held at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta from 29th to 31st May, 2013.  To see the programme, please go to www.orthotics-technology-forum.com

The Atlanta meeting follows two successful UK events, in Bath and in Manchester.  Like those previous meetings, the 2013 Forum will cover new technologies and processes designed to assist practitioners and laboratories in prescribing, designing and manufacturing custom orthotic insoles.  Speakers confirmed include leading names from the USA, Canada, the UK and Russia, covering subjects such as clinical management tools, next-generation design software and 3D printing of orthotics.

The Forum programme focuses on showing the latest technology that is currently being used in the design and manufacture of orthotic insoles as well as what may be on the horizon.  The aim is to provide another opportunity for delegates to see a wide variety of innovative technologies from a combination of diverse organisations.  The event will be sponsored by several of the leading organisations in the industry, including Freedom Machine Tools, Surefit, Nora, Mile High Orthotics, Acor, Kintec and Walking Mobility Clinics.

The Forum will also include a hands-on session, where delegates will be able to trial a selection of scanning, design and manufacturing techniques in the Georgia Institute laboratories.  Attendance can be counted towards attendees’ continued professional development – a list of associations certifying the Forum for CPD is on the website.

The Georgia Institute of Technology is one of the top research universities in the United States, occupying 400 acres in the heart of the City of Atlanta.  It was the first college in the USA to offer a Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics (MSPO).  Delegates will have the opportunity to tour the Institute’s extensive facilities during the Summit.
