Delcam to Show Latest Machining and Inspection Software at PTC Live

Delcam will demonstrate the latest developments in its machining and inspection software at the PTC Live Global event to be held in Anaheim, California, from 9th to 12th June.  On booth 709, Delcam’s FeatureCAM and PowerMILL CAM systems will be on show, together with the PowerINSPECT metrology software.

FeatureCAM was the world’s first feature-based CAM software when it was launched in 1995.  Constant development since then has ensured that the system has retained its leadership in programming speed and ease of use, while an increased range of strategies, including comprehensive routines for mill-turn equipment, has been added to provide more efficient toolpaths giving greater productivity on a wider range of machines.

Among the latest additions are a number of new probing capabilities.  The ability to incorporate probing sequences into CAM programs makes it easier to undertake unsupervised production operations by allowing automated checks to be carried out before, during and after machining.

PowerMILL is one of the world’s leading CAM software for high-speed and five-axis machining.  It offers a wide range of strategies, exceptionally fast calculation times, fully-integrated simulation and powerful editing, to maximise machine-tool productivity and optimise surface quality.  Automation with macros and templates speeds programming when making a series of similar parts.

The latest release includes major developments that will give better control of five-axis machining, smoother spiral machining and a new trochoidal roughing option in the dedicated module for blades, blisks and impellors.

PowerINSPECT is firmly established as the world’s leading hardware-independent metrology software.  It combines the ability to work with all types of inspection device with a comprehensive range of inspection routines for taking simple measurements, for inspection of geometric features and for analysing complex 3D surfaces.  The resulting reports present comprehensive information in an easy-to-read format.

The 2013 release offers unique dual-device inspection options that allow measurement with two portable devices at the same time, following the support for dual-column devices that was added last year.  These developments continue the drive to make PowerINSPECT the preferred inspection software for all types of metrology equipment.
