Empresarios Agrupados Signs Long-Term Agreement to Use Intergraph® SmartPlant® Enterprise Solutions
Empresarios Agrupados, one of Spain’s largest engineering companies focusing on the development of power generation projects, has signed a new 3½-year agreement to use Intergraph® SmartPlant® Enterprise as its main design and data management solution. The company seeks to invest in a technology suite that would provide it with competitive advantages in engineering in the longer term and allow it to position itself as a cutting-edge engineering company in the international marketplace.
In Intergraph SmartPlant Enterprise, Empresarios Agrupados found a suitable technology solution capable of facilitating global design, improving production and optimizing the life cycles of the plants it designs. The company seeks to achieve higher quality design, more reliable and centralized data-handling and improved workflows. This will lead to enhanced engineering activities and allow Empresarios Agrupados to provide the owner operator with better decision support capabilities and increased efficiency during project execution.
The Intergraph SmartPlant Enterprise portfolio suite includes Smart 3D, SmartPlant P&ID, SmartPlant Instrumentation, SmartPlant Electrical Detailed, CAESAR II®, SmartPlant Review and SmartPlant Foundation. The portfolio will help Empresarios Agrupados improve the development and implementation of engineering projects, especially for power generation plants.
“Empresarios Agrupados has used Smart 3D, SmartPlant P&ID and SmartPlant Instrumentation in a number of relevant combined cycle power generation plant and nuclear plant projects, experiencing productivity increases,” said Rafael Huete, IT department manager. “The company plans now to expand the use of the tool in projects in Africa and in the Middle East, while focusing on optimizing the implementation of SmartPlant Electrical Detailed and achieving further integration with other systems.”
