3D PDF™ Plug-Ins for Autodesk® 2014 Products Just Released

tetra4D® today announced the 2014 releases of the entire family of 3D PDF™ Plug-ins for Autodesk® products including 3D PDF™ for AutoCAD®, 3D PDF™ for Revit®, 3D PDF™ for Navisworks®, 3D PDF™ for 3ds Max®, 3D PDF™ for Maya®, and 3D PDF™ for Inventor®. Additionally, tetra4D is pleased to announce that its 3D PDF Plug-in for Autodesk® Inventor® software has received certification for the Autodesk Certified Apps program. The 3D PDF plug-in software enables design creators to directly convert 2D and 3D CAD data to rich, interactive 3D PDFs for easier visualization, collaboration, and shared design reviews with extended teams.

Now everyone on the extended team can interact with 3D design data with the free Adobe® Reader® without putting source intellectual property files at risk. The free Adobe Reader is installed on 98% of desktops worldwide so it's easy to share all design data in the universal 3D PDF format. With up to 97% smaller files than the original 3D model, teams can easily conduct design reviews electronically.

The Autodesk Certified Apps program, newly launched with Autodesk 2014 products, recognizes Autodesk software partner applications that demonstrate the highest level of quality, interoperability, and compatibility with select Autodesk products and release versions. Partner applications that display the Autodesk Certified App logo adhere to Autodesk-supplied guidelines that focus on providing the best working combination of Autodesk products and partner applications.

The entire family of 3D PDF Plug-ins for Autodesk products will be available on the Autodesk Exchange Apps, which is the destination for applications and content from software partners that extend the power of Autodesk products.

"We congratulate tetra4D for achieving Autodesk Certified App for the 3D PDF for Inventor Plug-in and for being a participant in the Autodesk Exchange Apps store," said Brenda Discher, vice president, industry marketing, Autodesk. "The 3D PDF for Inventor Plug-in is an example of the range of valuable extensions and add-ins easily available from within the design and engineering products they use every day. These new plug-ins help customers to extend the value of their Autodesk designs downstream."

"According to a recent study by Engineering.com 74% of respondents said they still exchange design information via email. Sending native CAD files puts source files at risk, needlessly," said Greg Baker, President of tetra4D. "With the latest release of our 3D PDF Plug-ins for the Autodesk 2014 products, tetra4D is helping Autodesk customers share design data easily, with confidence the recipient can view it every time, and trust that their IP is safe."
