Cary Francis Group Implements CPSIA Compliance, PLM and Supply Chain Management Solutions from NGC Software

NGC Software® today announced that Cary Francis Group, a merchandising, marketing support and fulfillment company, has implemented NGC's Extended PLM software as an integrated solution for product lifecycle management, global sourcing/supply chain management, and CPSIA compliance.

Cary Francis Group has more than 80 years of combined industry experience in providing its customers with marketing solutions that protect and promote their customers' brands through non-traditional products and services. The company specializes in promotional licensed merchandise and incentives for Fortune 500 companies.

CPSIA compliance was the #1 factor in Cary Francis Group's selection of NGC's Extended PLM software. The company must ensure CPSIA compliance on all products that it develops, sells and distributes for its customers, according to Phil Krempely, CEO and president, Cary Francis Group. "We source and ship our products from around the world, and we must ensure that we are tracking appropriately and have all the required CPSIA certifications," he explained.

Prior to selecting NGC's software, Cary Francis Group used a manual system to track CPSIA compliance. "The system couldn't handle our growing international business," Krempely said. "With NGC's system, we get the benefits of a 100% transparent solution that can not only manage the CPSIA compliance process but also help streamline our product development and global sourcing."

Key benefits of NGC's solution for Cary Francis Group include:

Brand protection through CPSIA compliance. "Our top priority at Cary Francis Group is to 'protect our clients' brands,' so CPSIA compliance is critical,” said Krempely.  "Cary Francis Group brings a level of comfort and security to the corporate brands that we represent, and NGC's software will help ensure that we have the right systems in place to manage all the complexities of CPSIA compliance."

Streamlined operational efficiencies. NGC's system will streamline business processes at Cary Francis Group by minimizing or eliminating inefficiencies and improving collaboration with overseas vendors. "The system allows us to enter data once, and then stream it to our other departments and platforms—including merchandising, purchasing, creative and IT—which will eliminate a lot of redundancies and speed up catalog development, e-commerce and other areas," said Krempely.

NGC's software also helps Cary Francis Group improve communications with its global supply chain by ensuring that all product information on the company's proprietary item specification sheets – documents that include the specifications for all the products that the company sells – is contained in the system and easily accessible to the vendors.

The implementation was smooth and finished ahead of schedule, according to Krempely. "We are very happy with the process," he said. "We compete very successfully against the giants in our industry, and we believe that NGC's system will help Cary Francis Group remain one of the industry's top five sales promotion services providers, and maintain our competitive edge."

"NGC's work with Cary Francis Group demonstrates the versatility of our PLM, supply chain management and CPSIA compliance software," said Mark Burstein, president of sales, marketing and R&D at NGC Software. "While NGC is known for our fashion, apparel and footwear PLM and SCM solutions, our software is equally adept at meeting the needs of a licensed merchandising company such as Cary Francis Group, as well as many other markets including accessories, consumer products and furniture. NGC is excited that Cary Francis Group is a customer, and we look forward to helping them realize the full benefits of NGC solutions."
