EON Reality Now Supports Revit via EON Raptor

EON Reality announced their support for Autodesk Revit, a Building information modeling software for architects and engineers.  It allows users to design a building and its components in 3D, annotate the model with 2D drafting elements and access building information from the building models database. A user-configurable 3ds Max script is then used to map the render materials to EON-compatible materials, before the model is finally exported to EON software via the EON Raptor plugin.

With EON Reality’s improved workflow for getting architectural 3D models built in Revit 2013, users can now quickly create interactive content for the EON Reality display systems that include EON Ibench, EON Icatcher and the immersive EON Icube system.

With 3ds Max 2013 using the new direct support for Revit 2013 and EON Reality’s free Plug-in for 3ds Max, EON Raptor can now export the 3D model directly to all EON Reality’s authoring tools and display systems. The plugin can handle a wide range of materials used in Revit, including Architectural Material, ProMaterialsV2, and MentalRay.

“By using the new support within EON Raptor we can now take our architectural models from Revit to the EON platform and visualize it in the EON Icube immersive system much quicker,” said George Matos, Chief Technology Officer, Chipman Design Architecture Inc.
