Acquisitions

Deloitte buys Asparona, Tango

Deloitte has acquired two Auckland, New Zealand technology companies, with a combined staff of 122, that specialize in implementing software from rival business software giants SAP and Oracle.

The acquisitions of Oracle specialist Asparona, which employs 81 staff, and 41-person SAP specialist Tango would add to Deloitte's consulting practice, which was "already the country's largest", Deloitte chief executive Thomas Pippos said.
After the acquisitions, Deloitte would be "equally weighted" in SAP and Oracle expertise, he said.

Asparona owner Ian Rogers and Tango owner Phil Bratton would become shareholders in Deloitte.
Both firms would continue to operate out of their current offices and under their own brands, meaning it would be "business as usual" for staff and customers, Deloitte said.
