CONTACT OpenWorld 2013: Success through Innovation
On 6 and 7 November CONTACT Software is inviting customers, partners and PLM experts from the worlds of science and industry to OpenWorld 2013 in Brühl, Germany. The new name of the user meeting underscores CONTACT's commitment to providing enterprises with the best open solutions for product lifecycle management (PLM) and the successful realization of technically complex projects.
With over 40 presentations, OpenWorld 2013 will offer a comprehensive, practice-oriented view of the current state of the art and important trends. Customers will report on their experience with the new Version 10 of the CIM DATABASE PLM platform. The main thrust of the OpenWorld event will be highlighted by keynote speeches concentrating on innovation and CONTACT's product roadmap for 2014. The agenda will also include a number of other interesting user presentations, workshops and tutorials designed to provide in-depth insight into PDM/PLM, the virtual product and process-oriented project management.
New materials and technologies, changing constraints and conditions, and the growing amount of software in products constitute both a challenge and an opportunity. The motto of OpenWorld 2013 – "Innovation Brings Success" – emphasizes how companies can a raise their profile above that of the competition with innovation-driven productivity. Professor Joachim Warschat of the Fraunhofer IAO in Stuttgart and Professor Guido Baltes of the University of Applied Sciences in Constance will be sharing their own particular views of these developments. Berthold Müssig of the FutureManagementGroup will explain how trends and technologies are changing the market and leading to the creation of new business models. And Markus Weise will describe how to build and motivate a team that can succeed in competition with the best in the world. Weise is the trainer of the German national hockey team, which has won Olympic Gold on three occasions – the last time in London 2012.
The extensive specialist program at OpenWorld 2013 has been put together with process administrators, project managers and key users in mind. One subject block will deal with the technologies and basic services of the new component architecture of CIM DATABASE 10, which simplifies and accelerates the introduction of new apps and modules significantly. A second will present the new applications that this makes possible, for example in the field of innovation management. A third will be devoted to tried-and-tested methods and procedures for optimizing processes and IT tools in engineering environments.
Users such as Andritz Metals, BOSAL International, KIRCHHOFF Automotive, Olympus Surgical Technologies, Sennheiser electronic and other well-known companies will provide insight into their innovation processes, industry-specific best practices and new requirements.
