James Coppinger Joins AMS as Director of AEC Solutions
AMS CAD +CAFM Solutions is proud to welcome James Coppinger as the firm’s Director of AEC Solutions. In this position, Mr. Coppinger will be responsible for developing the new AEC Solutions division to provide consulting, technical sales, training, and support for Civil-Infrastructure and Architectural clients. He will also be responsible for directing all staff, marketing, and day to day operations of the AEC Solutions group. With this key personnel addition, AMS is opening a new support line for the AEC community that focuses primarily on the operational support needs of our clients, instead of the software sales focus that is so prevalent in the industry. Mr. Coppinger’s extensive background in managing CAD and Document Management operations for large design firms gives him a unique perspective in this area that will be invaluable to AMS clients.
James brings 25 years of CAD experience in both the civil and architectural disciplines, including working the last twelve years as CAD/Training Manager for Maser Consulting, P.A., one of the largest civil engineering firms on the east coast. “I am very excited to be joining AMS,” says Mr. Coppinger, “having worked closely with them for the last decade, I know the level of excellence this firm strives for and I feel we will do great things together.”
In addition to his prior work experience, Mr. Coppinger is also the creator and primary content provider for the very popular cad.about.com website, which focuses on all aspects of the CAD industry from software to design process tutorials. He has also been a contributor to the AUGI HotNews magazine and an instructor at Autodesk University.
