Legendary Whitetails Selects NGC for PLM, Supply Chain Management and Raw Materials Management

NGC Software today announced that Legendary Whitetails, a casual hunting gear and lifestyle apparel marketer, has selected NGC’s PLM, Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Raw Materials Management software. Legendary Whitetails designs, develops and contracts the production of exclusive apparel, gifts and gear to market to hunters and their families.

Prior to selecting NGC’s software, Legendary Whitetails used a multitude of spreadsheets and databases to manage its development processes, causing delays in its supply chain and lengthening its time to market. “We were shortcutting processes to make delivery dates and in many cases even compromising quality,” said Tom Johnson, EVP and General Manager of Legendary Whitetails. “With our aggressive growth and new product development schedule we recognized that a PLM solution would have a huge impact on our workflow and processes.”

Legendary Whitetails expects a number of key benefits from NGC's software, including:

Improved workflow management. NGC’s workflow calendars allow users to view the status of milestone dates and ensure that product groups, collections and approvals are on schedule. Customizable alerts can predict if items will run late due to unexpected delays. “In the catalog business, delivery dates are imperative to successful campaigns, and back orders or missed sales are very hard to recover from,” said Johnson. “NGC’S PLM and Supply Chain management software will hold us to these important deadlines.”

Reduced time to market. By utilizing workflow management features and streamlining overall efficiency, NGC’S fashion PLM and SCM solution allows for a faster speed to market. “We expect to greatly reduce our time to market for new products,” said Johnson. “A more efficient and effective development process will also enable Legendary Whitetails to improve product quality.”

Centralized and collaborative access to data. Global collaboration and communications productivity tools within the PLM software will help reduce costly returns and save time during the sampling and fit process with Legendary Whitetails’ vendors. These features reduce the amount of emails throughout the extended enterprise; every communication is easily recalled in order to quickly resolve issues in the development process.

Advanced raw materials management. NGC’S Raw Materials Management feature allows users to request materials from a variety of suppliers, manage sampling and approvals to ensure proper production planning, and position raw materials for greater supply chain efficiency. According to Johnson, “Managing our raw materials with a centralized system that can control inventory will greatly reduce our time to market and increase accuracy for better control.”

Legendary Whitetails chose NGC Software for its deep understanding of the apparel industry. “We felt NGC offered the most well rounded software to meet the requirements that were important to a successful PLM solution,” said Johnson, regarding Legendary Whitetails’ decision to select NGC as its PLM and SCM solution provider. "The ability of NGC's software to handle all of the necessary workflows and details in the development process surpassed all the other solutions we investigated.”

"Legendary Whitetails is an American success story—a family owned business that has grown exponentially, with an exceptionally loyal customer base," said Mark Burstein, president of sales, marketing and R&D, NGC Software. "Our solutions will help Legendary Whitetails manage its growth more effectively and deliver the highest quality products to its customers. NGC is proud to be working with them."
