Arena Posts Seventh Straight Quarter of Over 100% Customer Renewals

Arena Solutions finished its fiscal third quarter of 2013 and its seventh straight with net customer renewals of greater than 100%. In addition, total subscriptions were up 21% and new customer subscriptions were up 56% compared to the same period a year ago.

Contributing to the success of the quarter was market anticipation for the Fall 2013 product release, which introduces four new and unique solutions — Arena Demand, Arena Projects, Arena Exchange, and Arena API.

The upcoming release has already received accolades from PLM industry experts.

“The Fall 2013 release is a giant leap in Arena’s product roadmap that both delivers a distinct competitive advantage to manufacturers as well as differentiates Arena from other PLM providers,” says Shaun Snapp, Consultant and Researcher at SCM Focus. And according to Chad Jackson, Principal Analyst of Lifecycle Insights, “[Arena Exchange] is an evolutionary step from traditional sharing spaces for PLM systems.”

“The rounding out of Arena’s PLM capabilities, especially to solve more complex problems for procurement teams and supply chain companies of larger-enterprise customers, is reflected in a services revenue increase of 186% compared to the same quarter a year ago,” says Craig Livingston, Arena CEO. Arena’s broadening appeal is also evident in the 89% year over year growth in consumer products and 82% year over year growth in industrial sectors; the market resonance Arena has established in the high tech, medical devices, and consumer electronics sectors is quickly scaling in other industries.

Steve Chalgren, Arena’s Vice President of Product Management and Strategy, lists improved visibility and secure sharing of product data across supply chain teams, as well as from Arena PLM to other business systems, as key themes of the Fall 2013 release. “The Fall 2013 release delivers fundamentally new and unique PLM and Supply Chain solutions to all our highly innovative customers,” says Chalgren.

New Customer Wins 
Arena’s patented cloud-based PLM solution has enabled manufacturing companies across various industries to create some of the most innovative products on the market. Here is a sample of some of the new customers Arena added during the third quarter: 

  • Harmar Mobility LLC – Develops products that help people increase mobility, independence, and quality of life accessibility.
  • 4Moms – Designs and manufacturers innovative baby products using robotics technology.
  • IndigoVision – Leading manufacturer of IP video security solutions for airports, ports, rail, traffic, cities, retail, banking, mining, education, casinos, police, prisons and government.
  • Actifio – Pioneered the first storage system optimized for managing copies of production data, eliminating redundant silos of IT infrastructure and data management applications.
  • GFS Corporation – Develops systems that allow large, high horsepower diesel engines to operate on a combination of natural gas and diesel fuel.
  • Ketra Inc. – Developer of innovative solutions in the field of Solid State Lighting.

Arena’s PLM solutions have helped manufacturers of all sizes realize the benefit of manufacturing in the cloud by providing customers up to 70% reduction in ECO cycle time and a 20% reduction in time to market. Arena helped Sierra Wireless streamline its supply chain processes so dramatically, they were able to release 173 new products in their first year implementing Arena PLM.

While these metrics are compelling, the measurable impact of Arena’s cloud-based PLM solution is, according to Chalgren, poised to become even more eye-opening. He believes the introduction of these four new products will have a profound impact on the return that customers gain from investing in the Arena PLM solution.
