"Celebrate Awesome" With Knovel's National Engineers Week Photo Contest

Knovel will join National Engineers Week's "Celebrate Awesome" activities by hosting a photo contest from February 11th through March 1st and by highlighting one "Awesome Engineering Inspiration" each day during Engineers Week.

Engineers, engineering students and fans of engineers are encouraged to submit images of the projects, people, role models and everyday innovations that have inspired them to achieve "awesome." Participants may submit photos via the Knovel contest site. The 10 participants who receive the most votes will be eligible for prizes, and a panel of Knovel judges -- who are inspired engineers themselves -- will then select two overall winners based on the photo's 1) creativity and 2) relevance to the STEM community.

There will be two grand prize winners; each will receive one Apple iPad Mini. For more information and contest rules, visit the contest site.

In addition to the contest, other inspirational engineering innovations will be featured on Knovel's blog daily, from February 18th through the 22nd. Expect to see "awesome" engineering creations, from self-healing concrete to exoskeletons. Visit Knovel's blog at http://www.knovelblogs.com/.

"Everybody loves to hear about the big innovations that engineers create, but it's just as important to recognize the ideas that ignite both the creative and scientific processes that lead to engineering innovation," said Knovel CEO Chris Forbes. "This year Knovel is celebrating National Engineers Week by recognizing the many ideas that inspire engineers to greatness. We can't wait to see what participants will share."

Knovel recently wrapped up its annual University Challenge, a program that introduces future engineers to top-notch resources as they learn how to research, problem solve and prepare for a competitive workforce. The photo contest is another example of how Knovel helps engineers to find inspiration.
