Following public criticism for passenger disruption caused by long-term engineering programs, this project was a first for London Underground Limited (LUL) as it replaced the tunnel lining over a 215-meter section of the Jubilee Line, while it remained fully operational. With working times in the tunnel limited to 2.5 hours per night, it was essential that LUL build a cohesive team and leverage its collective intelligence. Deployed via ProjectWise, the common data environment (CDE) and workflows defined within British Standard 1192 ensured a single source of truth for all project data, and helped LUL effectively execute the project.  With the use of Bentley technology for 3D visualization and animation, 4D planning, 3D printing, and virtual reality, all stakeholders and decision makers understood the design and project intent without ambiguity. LUL realised these advantages on the project: A complete 3D laser scanned model of the site and infrastructure enabled the creation of a 3D

JBM Highlights OCTOPUZ at iRex2015

The numbers don’t lie, and it’s easy to see that Robots are the future when you explore the facts. Between 2010 and 2014, the total supply of industrial robots increased by 40% per year on average. Numbers continue to rise record-breaking year after record-breaking year, with the double-digit trend forecasted to continue from 2015-2018*. This growth was reflected at the largest robot tradeshow in the world. The iRex conference and exhibition, held every two years in Japan, just celebrated its 21st anniversary with a record 446 companies and organizations in attendance, 1,882 exhibiting booths and 121,422 visitors. Over 5,000 of those visitors had travelled from overseas, making the exciting trip to see the future of robots in one place. With the ongoing trend toward robotic automation, the demand for quality offline robot programming and simulation software grows. JBM met iRex visitors at the doors of East Hall 1, Tokyo International Exhibition Center, with

Cyon Research and the ASSESS Initiative announce the First ASSESS Congress, which will be January 20-22 in Potomac, Maryland at the Bolger Center. The ASSESS 2016 Congress is centered on two intersecting domains: the first is the domain of design and engineering of products and the internet of things; the second is the domain of complex decisions, not just about products, but also strategies, politics, infrastructure, and other difficult areas that justify taking a long, hard look at the consequences of setting a direction. ASSESS 2016 starts where the ASSESS Summit left off, bringing together the key participants to further review the current status, issues, goals and actionable items of the ASSESS Initiative. This year's summit continues with a deeper and broader pool of leadership from the community of domain experts, industry analysts, software providers, researchers, and others in the community of model-based analysis, simulation and systems engineering. The role of the

Mentor Graphics Corporation today announced the Mentor Automotive A2B Analyzer®, the industry’s first third-party development platform supporting the Automotive Audio Bus (A2B) technology developed by Analog Devices, Inc. As automotive design complexity continues to grow, OEMs and suppliers are challenged with integrating faster, more efficient technologies into the automotive architecture at lower system costs. The Automotive Audio Bus technology facilitates the design of in-vehicle audio networks with reduced cost and complexity, and the A2B Analyzer helps significantly reduce the development time for these systems. Automotive Audio Bus (A2B): Lowest Cost-Per-Node Audio Networking Solution The A2B technology from Analog Devices is optimized to deliver superior audio quality while reducing system cost, weight, and design complexity. A2B utilizes a master-slave line topology to deliver audio and control data, together with clock and power over a single two-wire, unshielded twisted pair cable. The low-latency, deterministic nature of the A2B technology is particularly well suited for
