Delcam will demonstrate the latest software from its development team, the largest in the CAM industry, at SOUTH-TEC on booth #1423 at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC, from October 27th to 29th.   Programs to be demonstrated will include PowerMILL for high-speed and five-axis machining; FeatureCAM for quick and easy feature-based CAM programming; the PowerSHAPE Pro reverse engineering and modelling for manufacture software; and PartMaker for production and Swiss-type machining. The 2016 release of PowerSHAPE Pro software helps users to complete complex designs more quickly and more easily.  In addition, a combination of new, more efficient code and the extension of multi-threaded calculations to many commonly-used tasks makes the software significantly faster than any previous version. Autodesk, Inc. reported financial results for the second quarter of fiscal 2016. The company reported strong billings and deferred revenue growth. Second Quarter Fiscal 2016 ·         Total billings increased 7 percent, compared to the second quarter last year as reported, and 15 percent on a constant currency basis. ·         Deferred revenue increased 26 percent to $1.2 billion, compared to $981 million in the second quarter last year. ·         Total subscriptions increased by approximately 61,000 from the first quarter of fiscal 2016. Total subscriptions were 2.39 million at the end of the second quarter. ·         Revenue was $610 million, a decrease of 4 percent compared to the second quarter last year as reported, and flat on a constant currency basis. ·         GAAP operating margin was 1 percent, compared to 8 percent in the second quarter last year. ·         Non-GAAP operating margin was 11 percent, compared to 18 percent in the second quarter last year. Autodesk, Inc. has signed an agreement to acquire SeeControl, a San Francisco-based developer of an enterprise Internet of Things (IoT) cloud service platform. The SeeControl service helps manufacturers and systems integrators connect, analyze, control, and manage remote products, things, and assets and create new service revenue opportunities. “A new future of making things is emerging, where any built object, product or environment can be embedded with sensors that can feed information back into the design process. Oracle announced the results of its “Oracle Cloud Agility” study and revealed that businesses worldwide overestimate their agility. While a majority of businesses believe they are agile, Oracle’s research highlights that many organizations cannot flexibly manage workloads or rapidly develop, test, and launch new applications, leaving them poorly prepared to deal with competitive threats. The study also found a lack of awareness among businesses around how technology, like Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), can be used to help address these challenges. The Oracle Cloud Agility study surveyed 2,263 employees working for large global enterprises to understand business agility in the age of cloud. The results show that 64 percent consider their organization to be agile (i.e., able to adjust quickly to new business opportunities or to iterate new products and services quickly).
