3D Systems Corporation announced today that it anticipates its full year revenue to be in the range of $513 million to $514 million, within its previously raised revenue guidance range of $500 million to $530 million on over 30% organic revenue growth and over 50% total revenue growth for the fourth quarter of 2013. Compared to its expectations, the company experienced much stronger professional 3D printers and materials demand and softer on-demand parts and consumer demand during the fourth quarter. As a result, the company expects to report its December backlog nearly doubled sequentially to $28 million which included multiple advanced manufacturing 3D printers orders that it plans to deliver over the next year.  These are preliminary, unaudited results based on current expectations and actual results may differ. The company expects to report that its gross profit margin remained materially unchanged despite expanding unfavorable mix pressure that resulted in a slight decrease

Auckland based software provider Cadimage Group has today unveiled its latest venture in the software market: Cadimage PLM. “Today we are excited to launch our newest business - Cadimage PLM. This business will enable us to expand our software offering to the mechanical engineering sectors within the Australasia region,” announced Campbell Yule, Managing Director of Cadimage Group. “Not only will we be selling internationally recognized Siemens software, but we will be offering support and training services to get individuals and businesses up and running with the programs,” Campbell adds. Cadimage PLM will primarily be focused on promoting two Siemens products throughout the region: Solid Edge and Femap. While both are highly specialized programs for designing and analyzing mechanical assemblies, Solid Edge’s strength lies in its ability to create and manage 3D virtual prototypes. By creating these in a virtual space, users no longer have to produce costly prototypes to test designs, and can

For the third year in a row, ANSYS has earned an award celebrating unique tools that improve and simplify the electronic design process. ANSYS won the DesignCon 2014 DesignVision Award for the Integrated Circuit (IC) Design Tools category for ANSYS PathFinder-D technology. A comprehensive layout-based electro-static discharge (ESD) integrity solution, PathFinder is critical to custom IC designers because it helps identify weak areas of the design in layout or circuit that could potentially cause ESD failures. Historically, electronic components have often experienced ESD failures, or electrical shorts. However, these failures are becoming more frequent due to the rise in use of smart devices, shrinking geometries, higher levels of digital and analog integration and advanced electronic package designs. So the advanced technology to address these phenomena is becoming increasingly valuable. "It's with great pride that ANSYS accepts recognition from DesignCon for the third consecutive year," said Norman Chang, vice president and senior product strategist at ANSYS subsidiary

C3D Labs (ASCON Group) announced that NTP Truboprovod has entered into a licensing agreement to use the C3D geometric kernel for its portfolio of software products. NTP Truboprovod is a leading Russian developer of software for performing engineering analysis of piping and equipment. The C3D kernel will power NTP Truboprovod’s PASSAT application, which provides stress analysis of vessels and equipment. C3D optimizes geometric modeling functions and calculations of complex geometric shapes, such as volumes, surface areas, centers of gravity, and moments of inertia. In addition, the powerful kernel expands PASSAT’s export functions, allowing the geometric properties of vessel models to be exported in standard design formats. This provides PASSAT with a new level of integration with popular CAD software. NTP Truboprovod expects in the future to use C3D in its equipment wizards of other software products, such as in emergency relief system design software (“Safety Valve” program), or equipment and piping thermal insulation
