India's largest software services exporter, Tata Consultancy Services, said on Thursday quarterly net profit rose 13 percent, beating estimates. Net profit rose to 57.09 billion rupees ($900 million) for its fiscal first quarter to June 30, TCS said in a statement. Analysts on average had expected a net profit of 54.40 billion rupees. The EDA Consortium (EDAC) Market Statistics Service (MSS) today announced that the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry revenue increased 7.5 percent for Q1 2015 to $1877 million, compared to $1746.1 million in Q1 2014. The four-quarters moving average, which compares the most recent four quarters to the prior four quarters, increased by 8.0 percent. "The EDA Industry continues to show solid revenue growth in the first quarter, led by semiconductor IP," said Walden C. Rhines, board sponsor for the EDAC MSS and chairman and CEO of Mentor Graphics. "All categories showed revenue increases except CAE. Geographically, the Americas and Asia-Pacific reported double-digit growth."
