Software training firm Infinite Skills Inc. last week introduced its "Mastering Autodesk Inventor - T-Splines," an advanced course teaching experienced Inventor users how to apply cutting edge t-spline technology to enrich smooth surface models in the popular computer assisted design (CAD) program for mechanical engineers. GstarCAD8 64-bit Version Released

Gstarsoft has launched a new GstarCAD8 patch version highlighted by the new 64-bit architecture support, which means the more data that can be processed at once, the faster the system can operate. There are several other advantages to a 64-bit system as well, most practically the ability to use significantly greater amounts of physical memory. Etam Group has selected Centric Software, Inc., to provide its product lifecycle management (PLM) software. The French designer and manufacturer of lingerie, clothing and accessories features three major brands: Etam, 1.2.3. and Undiz. Each brand designs its owns collections and works with a global network of subcontractors and textile manufacturers. The Undiz brand’s style, development and sourcing teams will be the first to implement Centric 8 PLM. Etam Group chose Centric for its ease of use, scalability, and ability to handle multiple brands, categories and processes, says Sebastien Bismuth, CEO of the company’s Undiz brand. Aokang adopts Lectra Fashion PLM

AVEVA today opens registration for the AVEVA World Summit 2014, being held from 14-16 October in Berlin, Germany. Radan, from Vero Software, has appointed 3D Concepts as its reseller for Germany. With a number of offices across Germany, 3D Concepts provides a range of software services for design, part programming and post processing to several business sectors including aerospace and automotive, along with the machine industry and tool, die and mould making. Initially concentrating on Radan’s 2D CAM cutting Radpunch and Radprofile modules, 3D Concepts will eventually take on the whole Radan portfolio through to 3D bending with Radbend, and multi-axis products such as Radtube and Radm-ax, plus the logistics suite including Radimport and Radquote. Radan General Manager Chris Aston says 3D Concepts was the ideal choice for the role, as they are already the top German reseller for another Vero product, Surfcam. “3D Concepts can be more competitive by having a suite of software solutions from a single supplier, as a number of Surfcam customers also require a sheetmetal solution.” 3D

PTC today announced it has been ranked a leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions in China by independent global PLM strategic management consulting and research firm CIMdata, Inc. In its 2014 China PLM Market Report just issued, CIMdata identified PTC as the clear market leader in three categories: collaborative Product Definition management (cPDm), as well as in PLM revenues from the Aerospace & Defense and Electronics & High Tech verticals. CIMdata predicts that the China PLM market will maintain rapid growth. The report indicates that the five-year Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) for the market for calendar years 2014 through 2018 is forecast to be approximately 14.9%. The report further states that A&D is the largest industry sector in the China PLM market.
