The Building Information Modeling (BIM) software provider Tekla has acquired SVS Innovations’ (SVSi) construction software business and its advanced Field3D mobile technology. The acquisition further strengthens Tekla’s position in mobile BIM applications development. Dan Erno, Mechanical Engineer, GE Global Research Dan Erno has been a Mechanical Engineer at GE Global Research for 14 years and is currently in the Structures organization working on structural design and optimization for Aviation, Power and Water, Oil and Gas, and Wind. Dan received his BS in mechanical engineering from Rochester Polytechnic Institute and joined the Edison Engineering and Development Program at GE where he received his MS in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech.

This global contest offers students in middle school, high school, college, and art and architecture programs the opportunity to redesign an existing product or to create a new product that improves how a task is completed. Following an extremely positive response to its free hardware offer at last week’s MACH exhibition, Delcam has extended its offer include a free PC with all orders for more than £10,000 of the company’s software until the end of April.  The offer still applies across Delcam’s complete range of CAM programs; PowerMILL for high-speed and five-axis machining, FeatureCAM for feature-based production machining, PartMaker for programming turn-mill equipment and Swiss-type lathes, and ArtCAM for artistic manufacturing applications such as engraving and woodworking.
