Replay Webinar About our Speaker

Do any of the following statements sound a little too familiar?
  • Failure modes of connected intelligent products are not predictable.
  • Potential reliability risks are not adequately considered upfront during architectural and detailed design.
  • Repeat product failure modes are experienced by end customer.
Would you like to learn more? Then join us for a webinar on this topic!

Connectivity and artificial intelligence, while enabling innovations such as autonomous functioning, remote performance optimization, and remote condition monitoring and repair in products and product-systems, is likely to drive design complexity to unprecedented levels. Robust design of complex systems, which requires the ability to predict their failure modes, is becoming increasingly difficult due to the growing complexity of their functional architecture and the software content. A Semantic Web Technology based ontology, with its ability to convert implicit subject matter knowledge to explicit machine-readable and -searchable knowledge, can alleviate this problem to a large extent. Supporting design-for-reliability, with product failure knowledge capture and re-use based on Semantic Web Technology, has the potential to mitigate the warranty and recall risks of connected intelligent products.

This webinar is a sequel to the one presented on February 9th, 2017 entitled “Why Connected Intelligent Products Need Semantic Web Technology.” The webinar will present CIMdata’s initial experience with applying Semantic Web Technology for knowledge capture and reuse related to two specific areas of Reliability Engineering, namely, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). The webinar will also cover other areas of Design-for-Reliability that could benefit from Semantic Web Technology based knowledge capture and reuse with some detail for possible future investigation.

What will I learn by attending this webinar?
  • You will learn about the state-of-the-art of Semantic Web Technology that is relevant to product failure knowledge capture and reuse
  • You will gain first-hand experience of Semantic Web Technology as applied to FMEA and FTA
  • You will learn about a strategy for deploying Semantic Web Technology for knowledge capture and reuse
Join us for this webinar if you want to:
  • Gain knowledge about applying Semantic Web Technology for knowledge capture and reuse
  • Understand the readiness of Semantic Web Technology for strategic initiatives related product knowledge capture and reuse
Who should attend?
  • Reliability engineers
  • Reliability engineering managers
  • Systems engineers
  • Systems engineering managers
  • IT leadership responsible for product development tools and systems
  • Product managers from solution providers, focused on systems engineering and reliability engineering
  • Anyone interested in Semantic Web Technology

During the webinar you’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions about the topics discussed.
