If so, plan to join your peers to discuss all the key topics and more at our upcoming Simulation & Analysis Knowledge Council workshop.
NEW FOR 2015 - Join us on April 29 @ 2:00 p.m. for a networking tour of the Caterpillar Visitors Center, a Keynote Presentation by Dr. Lou Balmer-Millar, Caterpillar's Director of Research & Advanced Engineering, and a networking dinner!
CIMdata’s annual North American Simulation & Analysis Workshop is a must-attend event for industrial organizations and solution and service providers involved with simulation for product development. It provides independent education and a collaborative networking environment where ideas, trends, experiences, and relationships critical to simulation germinate and take root.
The theme for this workshop is Leveraging Simulation for Competitive Advantage. The following critical areas will be addressed:
Simulation needs to be managed as a corporate strategic capability. Studies show that even when companies have a high technical capability for simulation, that capability is not effectively leveraged in their product and manufacturing system development processes. This is an issue of organization and culture. Companies make ongoing and explicit efforts to improve their capability and confidence in simulation, and to broaden their understanding of how simulation fits in their overall engineering strategy.
Solution providers are delivering suites of integrated applications and a platform that provides some integration into the PLM environment and basic services that ease the task of integrating company-specific applications. These platforms promise to relieve some of the headaches of integrating single, best of breed solutions, as many customers. Leading users will describe their philosophy and solutions to deliver CAE resources to end users: Applications, data, storage, and HPC.
SDM solutions have been available for over a decade, but adoption has been slow. CIMdata research shows that local network shared drives with manually managed data are still a very common solution. Also, data that needs to be managed ranges from traditional 3D CAE FEA and CFD models to 0D/1D systems models and to controls and software. Integration to CAD, requirements, materials and test data remain major issues.
Participants in CIMdata’s Simulation & Analysis Knowledge Council Workshop will gain a solid understanding of current best practices and the work that CIMdata’s Simulation & Analysis Knowledge Council is undertaking. Attendees will experience a lively forum in which to discuss the real issues. You will also have the opportunity to have your voice heard and make your opinion count. This event also provides the chance to network with other simulation professionals, CIMdata’s subject matter experts, and members of the CIMdata Simulation & Analysis Knowledge Council. There will be plenty of time for open (and private) discussions.
CIMdata’s PLM Benefits Appraisal Guide is designed to help potential PLM users evaluate the applicability and payoffs of PLM in their enterprise, and to help existing users of PLM monitor the impact it is having on their product programs.
