CIMdata’s Simulation-Driven Systems Development Workshop: Driving Industry to Model-Based Systems Engineering, is the must-attend event for product development professionals and those involved with model-based systems engineering (MBSE). It will provide attendees with independent experiences from industrial companies and a collaborative networking environment where ideas, trends, experiences, and relationships critical to the industry germinate and take root.

MBSE may be described as the digital (rather than document-based) implementation of Systems Engineering (SE). The core idea, of using descriptive models of the product to collaborate and share information, promises to revolutionize product development. There are major practical issues that many manufacturing companies and software suppliers are just now trying to understand. This workshop will consider the challenges that companies adopting SE and MBSE face. It will help companies understand how to get there faster and with less risk.

This one-day workshop will focus on the practical integration of systems engineering into the PLM ecosystem, to provide an environment that leverages simulation for collaborative, up-front product development decision-making.

At this workshop learn more about:

  • Implementing MBSE for product design at global manufacturing companies
  • The critical role of behavior modeling and simulation in supporting MBSE
  • How MBSE facilitates product design from concept to release
  • Benefits that have been achieved from adopting an MBSE strategy
  • Metrics that may be used to measure MBSE success
  • The breadth of deployment of MBSE within industrial companies
  • The realities from industrial end users to adopting an MBSE perspective
  • Managing the relationships among systems, subsystems, and components and linking to product configuration
  • How product requirements are structured, linked to the product design, tracked, and change-managed
  • Managing the engineering change process in a MBSE environment
  • The maturity of tools used to support SE and MBSE strategies
  • The role of industry standards for data interoperability and collaboration to enable a “heterogeneous” MBSE environment

What to Expect If You Attend

Participants in CIMdata’s Simulation-Driven Systems Development Workshop will gain a solid understanding of the current systems engineering environment and the work that CIMdata’s Knowledge Councils are undertaking. Attendees will experience a lively forum in which to discuss real issues related to the practical implementation of a systems engineering strategy. This event provides the opportunity to network with like-minded professionals, CIMdata’s systems engineering experts, and members of the CIMdata Simulation-Driven Systems Development Knowledge Council.
