Product Family Description

IFS Applications™ is a component-based business application software that offers companies an integrated lifecycle approach to managing customers, products, assets, and services. It can help them employ lean enterprise concepts, control costs, manage projects, increase efficiencies in their supply chain, and measure their performance.

Product-related information is managed for each product phase. For example, the manufacturing BOM (Bill of Material) will automatically be created based on the engineering BOM. Product Lifecycle Management using IFS Applications provides support for total product configuration management (from program level to customer delivery) and information reuse and sharing. IFS Applications provides solutions for collaborative design project management across the extended enterprise.

IFS Applications for PLM include:

IFS Product Lifecycle Management integrates engineering, manufacturing and service to help reduce costs, improve quality and reduce time to market. Product-related information is managed from cradle-to-grave for a product or plant to integrate people, processes, business systems and information.

IFS Engineering provides tools for process design, instrumentation design, electrical design, asset data management, engineering change management, project delivery and PDM-configuration tools.

IFS Document Management enables users to access the right documents using whichever interface preferred, e.g., Microsoft®Windows® or a Web browser.

IFS Project Management offers support for all stages of a project’s or program’s life cycle, from initiation and planning to execution and completion with control of costs, time and resources. IFS Project Management includes, collaborative solutions, workforce management and project-based delivery.

IFS Quality Management is a tool for organizing and analyzing data in a systematic and comprehensive manner, from failure modes and effects analyses (FMEAs) and control plans to statistical process control (SPC) charts and capability studies. An integral part of IFS Applications, it supports the full lifecycle, enabling control of parts in manufacturing, distribution, and inventory locations.

IFS Service Management provides a solution for product service divisions, or professional service companies, providing support for their business processes. It contains functionality for all common service areas including call handling, service quotation, service order handling, preventive maintenance, service contract management, resource planning, warranty handling, metering, service logistics, and service analysis.

IFS Enterprise Asset Management includes support from engineering/plant design and project management to traditional enterprise asset management and operations. It covers a spectrum of business processes focused on assets, equipment and facilities.
