CIMdata Releases a New Program Review Report: Teamcenter Express
ANN ARBOR, Michigan, December 21, 2006 — CIMdata consulting and research firm announces the availability of a new program review of UGS’ Teamcenter Express solution. In this report, CIMdata provides a review and assessment of the entire Teamcenter Express program including its development, marketing and sales, and functionality.
Teamcenter Express is the core collaborative product data management (cPDm) component of the UGS Velocity Series, intended to address product design through manufacturing planning needs of small- to medium-sized companies.
According to Peter Bilello, CIMdata Director of Consulting Services, “Over the last several years, our research indicates that cPDm solutions have evolved to meet the needs of not just large organizations, but also small- to medium-size enterprises of all types.” Mr. Bilello said that this evolution is an “undisputable sign of general market acceptance for this data management-focused technology and the other Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) enabling technologies such as visualization, enterprise application integration, digital manufacturing, and others.” Mr. Bilello added, “There is no doubt that the extensive capabilities provided by many of today’s cPDm solutions have allowed enterprises in many industrial segments to better control and leverage their intellectual assets—to reduce cost, increase quality, and reduce delivery time-to-market”
Mr. Bilello explained that, “the key to success in the mid-market PLM space is the development and delivery of out-of-the-box applications and business solutions based on best practices that support an enterprise’s product definition information management requirements.” He added that UGS’ Teamcenter Express and the rest of the UGS Velocity series’ components are intended to deliver to this model.
