Bentley Systems, Incorporated, a global leader in infrastructure engineering software, announced that it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET). The collaboration is designed to advance digital infrastructure education and strengthen industry ready skill development for students and faculty at one of Kerala’s premier engineering institutions.
As part of the MoU, Bentley Systems and CET will establish a new Centre of Infrastructure Innovation on the CET campus. The centre will become a dedicated space for immersive learning, applied research, and specialized training. Key areas of focus will include sustainable design practices, digital construction workflows, and asset lifecycle management powered by AI and digital twin technologies. Through this initiative, students and faculty will gain hands-on experience with Bentley’s leading engineering applications such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, and OpenFlows.
In addition to software access, the partnership will enrich CET’s academic programs and broaden practical learning pathways. These enhancements will be supported by the Bentley Education platform, which offers structured learning modules, certifications, and project-based training aligned with global industry benchmarks. Together, these efforts aim to prepare graduates with the technical capabilities and professional skills needed to thrive in India’s rapidly transforming infrastructure landscape.
Kamalakannan Thiruvadi, Regional Executive, South Asia, Bentley Systems, said: “Bentley Systems remains firmly committed to cultivating India’s next generation of infrastructure professionals. Our partnership with the College of Engineering Trivandrum reflects our dedication to strengthening ties between industry and academia through advanced digital learning, hands-on experience with emerging technologies, and collaborative research initiatives. Together, we aim to build a strong talent pipeline equipped to drive the future of infrastructure.”
Dr. Suresh K, Principal, College of Engineering, Trivandrum, said: “The MoU with Bentley Systems marks an important milestone in CET’s efforts to strengthen industry-academia collaboration. The Centre of Infrastructure Innovation will provide our students and faculty access to advanced tools and global best practices, thereby enhancing experiential learning, research, and professional readiness in infrastructure engineering.”
The partnership supports India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision by contributing to the development of a skilled, future-ready workforce capable of advancing major infrastructure programs and driving digital transformation. It also strengthens Bentley’s mission to empower the next generation of infrastructure leaders.
Globally, Bentley collaborates with top universities to provide structured learning programs, certifications, and project-based training that prepare students for careers in digital infrastructure. In India, these global frameworks are adapted to local needs through curriculum enhancement, faculty development, and joint research, ensuring learners gain both international insights and region-specific expertise.
