MathWorks today announced that Aalto University has expanded its school-wide use of MATLAB and Simulink to include home usage access for students. The new agreement builds on the existing school-wide license that gives all students, faculty and lab staff with MATLAB, Simulink and over 50 additional MathWorks products for analysis, design, simulation, code generation, and verification. These products, selected because of their widespread use in the industry, are installed across the university’s teaching facilities.
Aalto University is a newly formed entity from the merger of three Finnish universities: Helsinki School of Economics, University of Art and Design Helsinki and Helsinki University of Technology – all leading and renowned institutions in their respective fields.
“Providing our faculty and students with the state-of-the-art tools used in the Finnish industry is a vital part of our program,” said Martti Raevaara, Vice President, Aalto University. “In addition, courses that are more interactive and hands-on through the use of MathWorks products help students understand and apply relevant engineering concepts and Model-Based Design for embedded development. That enables our graduates to be highly productive when they enter the workforce.”
