Tata Consultancy Services, India's largest IT services company, said it joined General Electric's Digital Alliance Program and will use GE's industrial internet platform to build more internet-of-things based solutions.  "We see great opportunities in leveraging our global industry expertise and assets, enriching GE's Predix platform to drive favorable business outcomes for customers,"  Anupam Singhal, Vice President, Tata Consultancy Services, said in a statement.  TCS will train more than 1000 additional developers in the Predix platform in 2016. Today, Panzura, leading the charge in removing the barrier to the cloud, announced the results of its "State of Manufacturing Cross Site-CAD Collaboration" survey conducted at SOLIDWORKS World 2016. The survey details the top challenges that manufacturing professionals face when working within Computer Aided Design (CAD)/Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) and design applications across sites. More than 5,000 manufacturing professionals attended SOLIDWORKS World 2016, with a significant portion participating in the "State of Manufacturing Cross-Site CAD Collaboration" survey. The survey revealed that many organizations struggle collaborating across locations with CAD applications due to long wait times for files to update, incorrect data, data loss, or versioning and replication issues. The survey found that 50 percent of respondents are currently collaborating across multiple offices using CAD/CAM applications. Partnership to Help Reduce Manufacturers’ Costs, Streamline Data Sharing Autodesk, Inc. and Siemens today announced an interoperability agreement aimed at helping manufacturers decrease the costs associated with incompatibility among product development software applications and avoid potential data integrity problems. IFS Acquires MainIoT Software Oy

Mentor Graphics Corporation today announced availability of the first entirely native UVM SystemVerilog memory verification IP library for all commonly used memory devices, configurations, and interfaces. Mentor is adding over 1600 memory models to the Mentor® Verification IP (Mentor VIP) library that already supports over 60 commonly used peripheral interfaces and bus architectures. As a result, Mentor becomes the first company to supply ASIC and FPGA SoC designers with a complete UVM SystemVerilog verification IP library that covers the breadth of their peripheral interface, bus protocol and memory device needs. A Dutch subsidiary of the international sheet metal software, Radan, has been presented with a prestigious business success award for its innovative approach and technology trend setting. Centric Software announces that Ted Baker, the renowned "No Ordinary Designer Label" based in London, successfully rolled out the second phase of its Centric 8 PLM project, on time and under budget. Centric 8 is the leading product lifestyle management (PLM) solution for fashion, retail, footwear, luxury and consumer goods companies. Following the successful menswear team go live in July last year, Ted Baker extended use of Centric PLM to their womenswear team for the development of its products. All of the information for a style, from concept through to bulk approval is entered and viewed on Centric 8 PLM. Currently the design, garment tech, buying and production teams can all access the same product information. As per the initial project plan with rollout mirroring the product development process, additional production and buying users will follow over the next few months.
