LEDAS, a C3D Labs customer and partner, has announced that CAD Software Solutions (Switzerland) has licensed LGC technology for comparison of three-dimensional CAD models and has integrated it into the new plug-in for Autodesk Inventor. This software is expected to arrive on the market later this year. Inventor users will get an easy-to-use tool to compare 3D models in the CAD system itself. As previously mentioned, C3D Labs and LEDAS announced the integration of LGC technology with C3D geometric kernel in March 2014. At that time, C3D Modeler became the basis for software component that can be used to create CAD systems for end users (C3D kernel operates on the same principle). And now the first mention has been made of software developed using LGC. “While several CAD companies already use LGC on a commercial basis, this is the first time we have made a public announcement of an LGC

The certified integration combines the maintenance data management functionality of SAP ERP with the engineering information management capabilities of BlueCielo Meridian. BlueCielo now has SAP-certified integration between Meridian Asset Management 2016 and the SAP® ERP application to fully connect the maintenance and engineering functionality in the software. The Meridian integration with SAP ERP makes it possible to link technical documentation created in the course of engineering change projects with assets maintained in the plant maintenance component of SAP ERP and the SAP Enterprise Asset Maintenance (SAP EAM) solution. This offers operations, maintenance and engineering users access to up-to-date asset information such as piping and instrumentation diagrams, isometrics, operations manuals, maintenance manuals, standard operating procedures and others. The integration consists of the following two functional components: 1 – Accessibility of critical asset documentation to staff in operations and maintenance. 2 – Visibility on the completeness of critical asset

CCE, a leading provider in advanced interoperability technology and engineering services, has released updates of its Open Data Exchange (ODX) libraries. Parallel processing support has been extended for CATIA and NX; this feature enables applications to import and export documents in multiple threads. To elaborate, CCE’s ODX libraries are thread-safe; this allows applications to process multiple documents, simultaneously. This increases user productivity in many ways, such as: Users can process multiple components of an assembly in parallel to enable faster loading of large assemblies. Users can process multiple part/assembly files in batch mode for quicker translations. Users can process different representations, such as lightweight (tessellated data) and geometry (B-rep) of a part, simultaneously. “We want to empower application developers with the proper tools so that they can take advantage of today’s powerful hardware, which contain multiple cores/processors. Enhancing our CATIA and NX ODX libraries to support parallel processing is a step in this direction,”
