In the proprietary software field, CENIT was able to boost sales by over 25 percent on-year. As Innovation Maturity Improves Processes and Tools Become More Critical A CIMdata survey among industrial clients and solution providers revealed, and perhaps confirmed, what we all intuitively know: We need to adjust our plans as our innovation maturity improves, focusing on different limiting factors as we go from ad-hoc innovation towards systemic innovation. In the survey we asked participants what they thought about the stage of their company’s innovation maturity and the factors that enable or limit innovation. The survey was conducted at the end of two different CIMdata education webinars, one recently and the other about eight months ago. Combined responses revealed a consistent pattern, as shown in the figure below. During the ad-hoc stage of innovation the most limiting factor is culture.
