Cadence Design Systems, Inc. announced the availability of the Sigrity™ 2016 technology portfolio, which improves product creation time with an enhanced PCB design and analysis methodology that is ideal for multi-gigabit interfaces. To speed up the qualification of a physical design for the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) compliance test, the Cadence® Sigrity technology portfolio includes automated support for IBIS-AMI model creation, fast and accurate channel model extraction using multiple field solvers, and an automated power-aware signal integrity analysis report to validate a virtual USB 3.1 channel. These technologies, when used together, can shave weeks off the design process. Previously, IBIS-AMI model creation has been a manual process. PTC reported financial results for the first quarter of fiscal 2016 ended January 2, 2016. Q1 Fiscal 2016 Overview First quarter FY'16 revenue was $291 million GAAP; $292 million non-GAAP. GAAP net loss was $25.5 million or $0.22 per share driven by a $37 million restructuring charge; non-GAAP net income was $57 million or $0.50 per share. As compared to the first quarter of FY'15, currency negatively impacted revenue by approximately $21 million and negatively impacted non-GAAP EPS by approximately $0.06 per share. Atos today announced that it has completed the acquisition from Gores Group and Siemens of Unify, the world number three in integrated communication solutions generating €1.2 billion annual revenue. The acquisition creates a unique integrated proposition for unified communications improving the social collaboration, digital transformation and business performance of its clients.  The transaction has been approved by employee representatives' bodies and has received the required approvals of the regulatory and antitrust authorities in the European Union, United States, Russia and Brazil. Cash consideration for Atos was € 366 million (adjusted from working capital) to acquire 100% of Unify. Net debt was € 48 million at closing and the pension deficit was € 176 million. Statoil has signed an agreement to use Aveva's strategic 3D design software platform to implement its projects. The Norwegian energy company has selected the new Aveva Everything3D (Aveva E3D) as an upgrade of its existing design system Aveva PDMS. Statoil will be able to meet the future demand of cost-effective project execution, using its integration with laser survey capabilities, clash detection and improved design as well as drawing capabilities. Using this new software, the company and its contractors can cut project schedules and also reduce rework during the design and construction phases. Using Aveva E3D, Statoil can migrate and access the 3D design for both new and existing facilities in a flexible manner.
