MachineWorks Ltd and Polygonal Mesh Processing Software will be showcasing the latest state of the art 3D printing software in Frankfurt at Euromold 2014, on Hall 11 Stand B86.  Ready for the Colour Challenge  MachineWorks will be demonstrating the exciting new features of Polygonica 1.2, including automated healing of complex meshes for additive manufacturing with support for full colour texture mapped models. Latest hardware innovations prove that full colour 3D printing is becoming the norm rather than the exception.  The Polygonica team have been working hard to ensure that the software required to prepare 3D models for full colour printing will not be a limiting factor. Beyond STL files Polygonica's advanced mesh repair algorithms carefully interpolate texture coordinates during the healing process, meaning that model files in formats such as Wavefront OBJ, 3ds Max, FBX and VRML can be processed directly without the need to re-project the texture. Support for user- defined data means that

MachineWorks Ltd will be showing new software advances and celebrating 20 years of manufacturing software at Euromold 2014 on Hall 8, Stand H09, 25-28 November.  MachineWorks CNC Simulation display in Hall 8 Leading CNC control manufacturers FANUC and FIDIA will both have a dedicated area at the MachineWorks stand showing demos with MachineWorks software driving their simulation. Specific APIs have been developed to optimise CNC controls, not just to run simulation in real time but to also simultaneously check for collisions. MachineWorks technology develops true solid modelling to detect gouges and clashes.  Rather than using sampling technology that can lead to crashes, MachineWorks uses the swept volume that guarantees no collision goes undetected in the envelope of the machine. The beauty of MachineWorks toolkit is its flexibility. MachineWorks libraries can offer solutions that range from a simple tool and stock simulation to a complex real-time anti-collision system.  Further to the control dedicated area, the MachineWorks stand will be displaying a range of demos

CGTech has announced that as a result of the CGTech-MachiningCloud-Iscar partnership, VERICUT users can directly download Iscar tool assemblies and use it within VERICUT software with minimal effort.  Most leading cutting tool manufacturers now make 3D solid model data available and VERICUT can read in this model data for use in the simulation process. Iscar’s MachiningCloud application, named IQCloud, increases its customers’ productivity by offering instant access to the company’s complete and up-to-date cutting tool data, without the hassle of searching through printed catalogues and various websites to find ideal tooling and then manually entering the data into the shop’s software. Tool assemblies can be grouped into “jobs,” and the complete job can be imported into VERICUT’s tool manager with only a few clicks. “The accuracy of the data input into VERICUT directly affects the output. So, an accurate model of the cutting tool and holder is required for the effective and

GibbsCAM Now Includes VoluMill

Gibbs and Associates today announced that, beginning November 1 of this year, it began including a no-cost license of VoluMillTM Wireframe for GibbsCAM with each new license of GibbsCAM Production Milling. Until now, the ultra-high-speed-toolpath engine was a fee-based option for GibbsCAM Production Milling, the primary milling package upon which a series of multi-axis GibbsCAM machining options integrate. Production Milling, which provides wireframe geometric modeling and toolpath generation for 2-, 2.5, and 3-axis machining, with 4th axis positioning, will now have VoluMill integrated within its traditional, shop-friendly interface. VoluMill Wireframe for GibbsCAM is a high speed machining process developed specifically to achieve the highest material removal rates while extending tool life through smooth transitions and constant tool loading. Customers have reported cycle time reductions as high as 70% and tool life extension of five times. “Although we believe that our software already carries exceptional value, we are pleased to offer this
