Visitors to WorkPLAN’s booth at the Industrie Paris 2014 exhibition were particularly interested in the new feature of remote access to the database from mobile devices.
Version 5 of WorkPLAN, from Vero Software, features the ability for Android tablet and smartphone users to log on to the system to access quotes, projects, invoices, client information and a variety of files.
WorkPLAN Business Manager Teofilovic Violette says: “Industrie Paris was the ideal venue for us to officially launch this important new service, and it certainly attracted a lot of interest from visitors to our booth. We also launched a separate mobile application which allows project-related Time Management data to be fed into the system.”
Another aspect on the booth which attracted considerable attention was a robot cell created in partnership with Guignard Robotisation, based in Viry, performing polishing and engraving operations on a Staubli TX90 under the control of WorkNC Robot, a derivative of WorkNC.
“As this company is also equipped with WorkPLAN Solutions we demonstrated how it would improve aspects of project management in the specialised machine manufacturing sector.”
A number of orders were placed at the show, totalling around 80,000-Euro and Teofilovic Violette also says many existing customers discussed new projects with them.
“One of objectives at the show was to demonstrate how WorkXplore 3D has been integrated into WorkPLAN Solutions. Users will find the integration, which allows direct linking between CAD files and the different WorkPLAN Solutions modules, saves them considerable time.
“The new release establishes links with the Quotation module during a project’s preliminary, preparative and costing phases. Technical elements of bills of materials making up the tree structure of an ordered part or tooling can then be developed and validated.” The link with the 3D model file is maintained throughout the full WorkPLAN process for purchasing standard elements and consulting raw material suppliers. “This guarantees traceability and ensures full integrity of the imported technical data.”
In addition, users of Vero’s VISI suite were interested in WorkPLAN’s project management application as it matches their requirements in the die-making sector. “The possibility of automatically importing bills of materials into WorkPLAN from VISI opens up new opportunities. Being part of the Vero Software Group, WorkPLAN Solutions’ close links with the CAD/CAM industry means it provides a turnkey solution across the design, tooling and customised manufacturing sectors.”
