Dassault Systèmes today announced that the Offshore & Engineering division of Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has chosen to deploy Dassault Systèmes' 3DEXPERIENCE platform and its marine and offshore industry solution experiences.
HHI is determined to maintain its technology leadership position through differentiation and innovation in a highly competitive environment. Recognizing that the sheer complexity of large offshore development projects requires an integrated collaborative design, engineering and project management solution, HHI has turned to Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform. The company’s 3DEXPERIENCE strategy and technologies will enable it to produce offshore facilities with not just better quality and performance, but with the industry’s best quality and performance.
HHI thoroughly evaluated all major industry vendors in its search for the right partner and technology. In the end, the company knew it needed a solution that was able to manage large and complex models with an incredibly large number of parts. The result of that comprehensive vendor review and selection process, Dassault Systèmes and 3DEXPERIENCE, was announced at a presentation held by HHI’s Offshore & Engineering division for over 80 key personnel and guests.

Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform will provide HHI with offshore-specialized solutions, including “On Time To Sea” and “Designed For Sea” industry solution experiences. “On Time To Sea” provides integrated program management that allows companies to plan and manage the development of complex offshore structures with improved time to market and on budget delivery. “Designed For Sea” connects requirements, regulations, and offshore engineering disciplines throughout the design process to reach design excellence. High quality preliminary design is achieved with enhanced productivity and cost effectiveness by evaluating and validating design alternatives using real-time 3D simulation and analysis.
