Axium, a developer of accounting and project management software for A/E firms that is now part of Deltek, announced the introduction of Project Trek™, a collaboration and document sharing solution formerly known as ArchiTrek™. The cloud-based software tool was designed by architects to improve how A/E/C project teams work together to deliver successful projects. Project Trek will be demoed at the 2014 AIA conference in Chicago in booth numbers 3254 and 3255.
“With the advent of sophisticated BIM software and integrated project delivery, the industry demanded a better way to collaborate, share documents and manage the design and construction process,” said Namita Dhallan, Deltek’s EVP of Product Strategy and Engineering. “We believe Project Trek addresses these challenges in a unique way because we tailored it specifically to the way A/E/C firms work today.”
Project Trek promotes collaboration, document and construction management, and electronic bidding through a web platform that can be quickly and securely accessed based on project role. Digital access to files simplifies RFIs, RFCs, submittals and change order tracking during the design and construction process with version controls and remote access. Project Trek eliminates the effect of groups working in silos by maintaining a central repository where current files can be accessed by everyone contributing to the project. The excess costs associated with the time, resources and printing of multiple bid packages are also reduced.
“Gaining transparency and accountability throughout a project from design to delivery is critical in today’s dynamic A/E/C environment,” said Jason Brabo, Principal at TLCD Architecture. “Project Trek offers a visibility into projects we have never experienced before and has dramatically improved communication among all the teams involved, improving efficiency and mitigating risk.”
The SaaS delivery of Project Trek eliminates additional hardware or software investment as well as any added burden on a firm’s IT resources. With anywhere access from mobile devices, Project Trek supports remote uploads to get information into the hands of those who need it quickly, including field reports with photos and descriptions of project site details. Featuring an intuitive software interface, Project Trek fosters quick adoption by users with minimal guidance or training.
