Delcam has added a series of videos filmed during EMO 2013 to its Delcam.tv online television channel. A summary video at www.delcam.tv/emo2013 shows demonstrations run on the Delcam stand of machining with both machine tools and robots, while the other videos include interviews with some of Delcam’s technical partners at the show, plus more detailed demonstrations of mill-turn programming with FeatureCAM and of the new Hamuel hybrid repair machine programmed with Delcam software.
One highlight of EMO for Delcam was the award by industry magazine MM Maschinenmarkt to its partner Hamuel for the company’s new hybrid machine for the repair of high-value metal components, such as turbine blades. The machine combines five technologies in one unit – five-axis CNC milling, laser cladding, robot polishing, inspection and laser marking. Programming for this machine is provided by Delcam software, with in-cycle part inspection, using Delcam’s adaptive machining software, providing feedback to orientate the parts, assess defects, and ensure accuracy throughout the various stages. The video demonstration can be seen atwww.delcam.tv/hamuel-emo2013
An important trend at EMO was the number of new mill-turn machines shown. The video at www.delcam.tv/emo2013-hermle-c42u-mt shows how FeatureCAM’s automatic feature recognition makes programming of mill-turn equipment both quick and easy. The video also demonstrates the high quality of process simulation that is possible in FeatureCAM, allowing toolpaths to be checked on the computer before they are sent to the machine.
Working with its technical partners is a key part of Delcam’s success at many exhibitions and EMO was no exception. The video atwww.delcam.tv/partners-emo2013 includes interviews with representative of machine-tool manufacturers Doosan, Kiheung and Hwacheon, and from tooling suppliers SGS.
