TCS Graduate Program Creates New Opportunities in Australian IT Sector

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), announced the relaunch of its TCS Graduate Program in Australia. This graduate recruitment initiative creates new tech-sector job opportunities for Australian graduates that have been selected from a number of leading universities. To mark the occasion, TCS announced that its 2015 inductees will participate in a comprehensive 3-month training program in Australia and India commencing on the 31st January.

Deborah Hadwen, CEO, TCS Australia and New Zealand said, “The TCS Graduate Program 2015 provides a structured training environment for the team. We are looking at the next generation of leaders in this bright, talented group. Australia has a need to develop talent in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematical (STEM) fields, and TCS is committed to creating work opportunities for graduates, with the long-term goal to grow globally-integrated executives that have the right skills and capabilities that will assist Australia to remain competitive.”

Over 300 IT graduates applied to the TCS Graduate Program 2015, and 10 participants were selected for the January induction.  The selection process included a formal application as well as detailed interviews with TCS. The graduates will participate in TCS’ renowned Initial Learning Program (ILP), with an extended session in TCS’ Trivandrum facility, where the trainees will learn Software Engineering, Business Intelligence, Mobility, Java programming and general business skills. On completion of the training program the graduates will assume full-time employment at TCS Australia.

Professor Keith Crews, Associate Dean – External Engagement, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, University of Technology, Sydney, comments, “The University of Technology Sydney is pleased to learn that one of our graduates is participating in the TCS Graduate Program. It’s crucial for IT graduates to experience world class training. Travelling to India to be coached alongside TCS’s best and brightest for a 3 month period is a very special opportunity. I would like to thank TCS for driving this exciting program forward in Australia.”

TCS selected graduates from its University partners at University of Technology, Sydney; University of New South Wales; University of Sydney; University of Wollongong; Charles Sturt University; Queensland University; Monash University; Australian National University. The next intake of the TCS Graduate Program will take place in January, 2016.
