Following the success of the first Footwear Technology Forum in Milan, Delcam CRISPIN, is running its second Footwear Technology Forum in the United States for designers and manufacturers of all types of footwear. It will be hosted at PENSOLE Footwear Design Academy in Portland, Oregon, on 20th and 21st May.
Full details and the registration form are available on www.ft-forum.com
The Forum will focus on current and emerging technologies that will help companies to develop more innovative designs, reduce costs and bring new products to market more quickly. Top industry experts from organizations around the world will cover topics including the latest developments in 3D printing, digital prototyping, 3D rendering, simulation, materials and emerging manufacturing methods.
Commenting on the event D’Wayne Edwards, Founder of PENSOLE said, "I am very excited to be hosting Delcam CRISPIN’s first Footwear Technology Forum in North America at our facility in Portland, Oregon. This is a great opportunity not only for the academy and our students but for the entire footwear community.”
D’Wayne Edwards was the footwear design director at Jordan Brand, a division of Nike Inc. Over the course of his 26-year career, D’Wayne has received numerous design awards, been voted one of Fast Companies Most Creative People in 2014, awarded over 30 patents, and designed over 500 styles for some of today’s premiere athletes such as Derek Jeter, Carmelo Anthony and Michael Jordan. Even so, he is most proud of creating a pathway for more African American and aspiring footwear designers globally with the creation of PENSOLE (www.pensole.com).
Not only will the forum present current and emerging topics relevant to the footwear industry but attendees will also have an opportunity to participate in a ‘step out tour’ that will include live demonstrations of 3D printing, digital prototyping and ShoeMirror, a virtual reality shoe-fitting system. Following this, there will be time for industry peers to network and discuss further the future uses of technology and digital prototyping within the footwear industry.
Delcam, a world leader in advanced CADCAM solutions for manufacturing, is hosting the FTF in partnership with PENSOLE. It is a non-profit event and any funds over and above operating costs will be donated to PENSOLE. If you are interested in attending or sponsoring please go to www.ft-forum.com
