PTC today announced that Vertu, a leading manufacturer of luxury mobile phones, has replaced its legacy software with PTC solutions. With PTC solutions, Vertu will be able to reduce its design cycles by 50%.
By combining handcrafted materials, leading technology and a suite of luxury services, Vertu has created the world’s most exclusive range of mobile phones and accessories. Vertu selected PTC Creo® [CAD] software for the development of its exceptional mobile units and PTC Windchill® [PLM] technology for the enterprise backbone that links its design teams together, across the globe.
PTC solutions give Vertu the capability to collaborate on product designs in a single digital 3D environment. This means that Vertu engineers and their key global supply partners are able to collaborate together in real time anywhere in the world using common data and embedded communication tools. Vertu has eliminated data translation from its key development process, increased the efficiency of collaboration and significantly reduced data exchange errors. The seamless implementation of the new enterprise-wide system took fewer than 10 months, the timing being imperative to achieving Vertu’s aggressive goals.
Vertu also implemented the PTC Precision LMS eLearning solution to ensure fast-track conversion from its legacy CAD system and meet its ambitious deployment schedules. PTC Precision LMS provides training content directly to end users and is the basis for instructor-led classroom training.
