IMSI®/Design announced the release of DesignCAD 3D MAX version 25. Made popular by its short learning curve and long list of versatile 2d and 3d design features, this major update is now available in a Windows® 64-bit-compatible version and includes STL file support for 3D printing.
"DesignCAD v25 represents our most significant upgrade in the past 6 years. Expanded file compatibility and a 64-bit version further solidifies DesignCAD 3D Max's position as the best under $100 CAD product in the world," stated Bob Mayer, President of IMSI/Design.
Additional new file formats supported include SketchUp SKP, OBJ (commonly used for exchanging 3D models), and GIF, which DesignCAD now uses to work with raster image data. There is also a new command to Triangulate Surfaces which can be helpful when converting the drawing to a different drawing format for use in another design or CAD program (OBJ, DWG, DXF, STL, SKP).
"As an entry level precision design application, we understand that customers want to be able share their work with other systems," states Kevan Chapman, DesignCAD Product Manager. "And yet, there are many functions our users find are just easier to do in DesignCAD. Expanding the file compatibility makes DesignCAD 3D MAX v25 a great companion product."
