ModuleWorks and Power Automation have been working in partnership on applying Simulation and Real-Time collision avoidance to the CNC. The results of this partnership, in particular the use of multi-touch gestures giving outstanding ease of use, will be shown at EMO 2015 in October.
The solution supports the full kinematic simulation of the machine incl. 3D real-time visualization in HD, fast-forward simulation of the manufacturing process and real-time collision avoidance with preventive stop. Everything from 3-axis to complex 5-axis milling is supported. Particular effort has been put into making the most of the touch interaction available on the control hardware.
Marc Hilpert, President of Power Automation, says ‘We are delighted with this unique development of the verification and in particular the real-time collision avoidance. We can not only detect a collision but even prevent it. This geometric perspective requires computing power which only a pc-based CNC System can offer. This gives us a major advantage over our competitors and a unique selling point.’
