In May 2015, Lattice Technology announced the availability of two connectors that enable Teamcenter users to easily take advantage of Lattice3D solutions while in the Teamcenter user interface. The Lattice3D Studio Connector for Teamcenter and the Lattice3D Publisher Connector for Teamcenter allow users to create, update and publish work instructions or any technical communication available from Lattice Technology.
Siemens Teamcenter is a leading product lifecycle management (PLM) solution that helps companies improve productivity by managing the lifecycle of a product–from engineering design and manufacturing through sales and customer support. The Lattice3D solutions repurpose 3D design data from virtually any CAD system. These connectors enable Teamcenter users to use model data from NX and JT and business data stored in Teamcenter. The connectors are accessed from the Teamcenter menu or with an icon, letting users easily move back and forth between Teamcenter and the Lattice3D environment.
“Many other solutions on the market today can’t effectively handle very large assemblies—they either take too long to load, or they simply can’t load them at all,” explained Bill Barnes, General Manager, Lattice Technology. “Because Lattice3D models are accurate and ultra-lightweight (usually one-half of one percent of the native CAD model), users can easily handle heavy data. With Lattice 3D, even assemblies with thousands and thousands of parts can be examined using a standard laptop or tablet.”
