PTC today announced PTC University has been selected by the Brandon Hall Group as an award winner for “Best Advance in Learning Management Technology for External Training,” winning Bronze for its submission of: “Digital Guides: Lean and Green Content Delivery”
The PTC Digital Class Guide was developed as an alternative to the traditional printed manual or standard e-book. PTC’s digital guide allow students to have 24/7 access to class material and organized notes in one place for reference at any time. Additionally, this responsive design makes consuming material on an iPad simple as students can bookmark pages and take notes within the electronic guide.
Another benefit of the PTC Digital Class Guide is the environmental impact. Previously, more than 31,000 instructor-led training guides were printed annually. By going digital, PTC University is saving an average of 70 tons of paper annually. According to conservativetree.org, this translates to saving more than 600 trees per year.
“Since we started rolling out this program in 2014, we have received very positive feedback from our customers. Receiving this award is another important encouragement and shows that great user experience and sustainable thinking can go hand in hand,” said Stefan Helf, senior vice president, PTC University.
A panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, and Brandon Hall Group senior analysts and executives evaluated the entries based upon the following criteria:
- Product: What was the product’s breakthrough innovation?
- Unique differentiators: What makes the product unique and how does it differ from any competing products?
- Value proposition: What problem does the product solve and/or what need does this product address?
- Measurable results: What are the benefits customers can expect to experience as a result of using this product?
