Tech Soft 3D today announced the latest release of Tetra 4D Converter, a powerful solution for creating 3D PDFs to support multiple workflows, enabling the model based enterprise by allowing users to package constrained models with all necessary product manufacturing information into a lightweight, sharable format. Tetra4D Converter 2016 now supports exporting 3D data to ACIS (SAT) files as well as updated support for reading the most recent versions of Solid Edge (ST8) and SolidWorks (2016). The 2016 release of Tetra4D Converter also features additional functionality for controlling the display of 3D PMI and views in 3D PDF files.
"This latest version of Tetra 4D Converter continues our tradition of delivering the most powerful products to our customers, that are also easy to use, flexible and compatible with multiple CAD formats," said Dave Opsahl, Vice President of Corporate Development for Tech Soft 3D. "We are confident that our customers will love this product even more, and we will continue to see widespread adoption across industries."
Tetra4D Converter 2016 adds the ability to export 3D geometry to the SAT file format. This new export functionality enables the exchange of 3D PDF models with applications that use the 3D ACIS Modeler.
A new conversion option has been implemented for PMI support, with an "always use default color" feature. This option specifies the color that is used for displaying PMI in a 3D PDF file. For example, it is useful to change the display color of PMI in a 3D PDF file if the PDF background color is the same as the PMI color from the native CAD application.
New conversion options have also been added to set the projection mode used in the default views to either Perspective or Orthographic. The default view is the view that is used to create the 3D poster image in a 3D PDF file.
There is also a new option to define what orientation will be set for the default views. Several pre-sets corresponding to the major CAD formats that are supported by Tetra4D Converter are provided. Users can also create their own orientation settings and save them.
In addition, there are several stability and performance enhancements based on customer requests in the 2016 release of Tetra4D Converter. Please contact our support team through the Tetra4D Support Page if you have questions about a specific issue.
