Siemens PLM Awarded Customer Value Excellence For Its Omneo Product Performance Intelligence Solution

Based on its recent analysis of the product performance intelligence market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Siemens PLM Software with the 2016 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Customer Value Excellence through Application Convergence. The company’s Omneo™ solution, gives its customers industry-specific technology to reduce the time and effort that go into big data management through performance analytics. In fact, the cloud based, software-as-a-service (SaaS) product lifecycle management (PLM) platform can rapidly pinpoint previously undiscovered product and value chain issues by harnessing unexploited data sources.

Using pattern identification of product-generated data, Omneo offers global companies actionable intelligence to enhance business performance, exercise control over product quality and improve the customer experience. The solution provides a 360-degree overview of value chain data and is easily scalable, allowing clients to collect, store, and analyze data on a single platform. This closed process loop makes identification and resolution of emerging supply chain problems smarter, faster, and simpler.

“The Omneo SaaS solution allows companies to get an overview of the entire value chain and track the source of issues,” said Frost & Sullivan Analysts Mohena S and Muthuraman ‘Ram’ Ramasamy. “It prioritizes results, allowing clients to focus only on information that affects product performance.”

Omneo is differentiated in its ability to discover hidden issues and predict trends. Its ability to draw data from enterprise platforms and Internet of Things (IoT) sources helps it to form a base for intelligent product performance analytics. Subsequently, large data sets are swiftly combined to clearly identify anomalies in the product lifecycle. Particularly, customers can visualize data from disparate sources on a single platform within seconds. This eliminates the time and costs required by traditional product performance analytics solutions.

“The disruptive capability of Omneo springs from the completeness of problem-solving technology,” noted Ram Ramasamy. “While the product currently finds use in the hi-tech industry, it is just a matter of time before it expands into other industries and application areas. Unlike horizontal companies trying to get into vertical markets, Siemens PLM Software’s approach is that of a company with deep expertise across process and discrete verticals getting into horizontal functions. This will offer it attractive near-hanging opportunities in high-growth functional areas such as predictive maintenance and connected asset performance management, in addition to product quality.”

The solution further sets itself apart with its automated performance monitoring. It is also capable of ad hoc monitoring, providing customized charts and graphs, and easily sharable global reports as well as post analysis of parametric datasets. Omneo ensures that users can leverage the same information across teams with globally defined key performance indicators (KPIs). It has a centralized cloud-based platform, adapts itself for domain-specific use, and improves continuously with repeated usage.

“Omneo technology helps customers rapidly clean and purify Big Data to minimize errors and instill integrity in decision making,” stressed Mohena S. “The global sharing capabilities it brings, enable faster resolution on issues because the entire value chain can be informed on a near-real-time basis, thereby nurturing a responsive supply chain network.”

Siemens PLM Software adds further value by simplifying the implementation of its software. The ability to provide insights-as-a-service (InSaaS) across several functional stakeholders (manufacturing, design, quality, procurement, etc.) and product quality attributes, accentuates the disruptive capability of Omneo in the market. As a software-as-a-service (SaaS) application platform, Omneo can run in a Siemens PLM Software data center or on Amazon Web Services, eliminating the need for constant upgrades of on-premise software.

In recognition of the high value customers experience in its solution, Siemens PLM Software is the worthy recipient of the Frost & Sullivan 2016 Global Customer Value Excellence through Application Convergence Award. Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that demonstrates excellence in implementing strategies that proactively create value for its customers with a focus on improving the return on the investment that customers make in its services or products. This award recognizes the company’s inordinate focus on enhancing the value that its customers receive, beyond simply good customer service, leading to improved customer retention and, ultimately, customer base expansion.

“Frost & Sullivan’s recognition that Omneo automates insight from product performance data to create actionable intelligence, is a strong and gratifying validation of our product strategy” said Stephen Bashada, Siemens PLM Software Senior Vice President of Cloud Services. “We are honored to be recognized by such a well-respected organization as the leader in Product Performance Intelligence.”
