NBS Chosen as First UK Solution Associate of Autodesk

Newcastle-based company NBS has been chosen as the UK’s first Solution Associate of US firm Autodesk. NBS provides the construction industry with content relating to Business Information Modelling (BIM) and knowledge management. The North East firm says that the collaboration is a significant achievement as it seeks to expand its workforce in the near future with more plans for international growth in the offing.

It has been reported that the new partnership will simplify decision making for engineers, surveyors and architects by giving them access to content throughout the full project workflow, allowing collaboration throughout the different disciplines which will save money and time.

Chief Executive at NBS, Richard Waterhouse, commented: “I am really excited about becoming the UK’s first Solution Associate of Autodesk. “This collaboration will provide a step change in the delivery of integrated solutions to provide huge efficiency gains for designers, manufacturers, contractors and building owners/operators.”

Meanwhile, Autodesk’s Senior Director Building Business Line, Vikram Dutt, said that Autodesk and NBS have the same desires to benefit the whole industry and are both committed to providing customers with the best possible experience. Dutt added that the collaboration will create the opportunity for both companies to build on their existing relationship by entering new markets and delivering greater value to customers around the world and meeting their future requirements.

Meanwhile, Autodesk has introduced its new 2017 Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) product range for a range of advanced manufacturing applications ranging from lathe programming and CNC milling to complex mould and die manufacturing. Autodesk’s 2017 CAM solutions build on manufacturing software from Delcam, a CAD/CAM company, which Autodesk acquired two years ago.

Autodesk’s Manager of Manufacturing Industry Strategy, Mark Forth, said: “Manufacturers need to iterate and innovate faster than ever before to stay competitive as the marketplace is redefined by a new future of making things.”
