C3D Labs, a subsidiary of ASCON Group, is pleased to announce that Nanosoft has licensed its C3D components for the nanoCAD Plus platform. As one of the leading Russian CAD software developers, Nanosoft will use the C3D Modeler, C3D Solver, and C3D Converter components from C3D Labs in its nanoCAD Plus line of CAD software.
The decision to use the C3D modeling kernel was made after C3D Labs developed a module that integrates its kernel with the Teigha® DWG/DXF/DGN platform from the Open Design Alliance. This eliminated any remaining constraints towards the development of C3D-based CAD systems that support *.dwg and *.dgn files directly.
“It took us a while to arrive at signing the C3D license agreement, but now with C3D integrated into the Teigha libraries, we can minimize the cost of developing our products with this kernel,” said Dmitry Popov, product launch director at Nanosoft. “During the time that we tested the kernel, we built a connection between our respective companies, and so we are confident that this will have a synergistic effect on the ongoing development of nanoCAD and C3D. Nothing exceeds it as a sound technology solution.”
“This first-of-its-kind agreement is essential for us,” said Oleg Zykov, CEO of C3D Labs, “because as C3D and nanoCAD Plus are fully integrated, we will have access to the needs of an impressive number of end users. This will give us a keen insight in how to improve our software components. The more software packages that run our kernel, the better it is for us and for our customers.”
