Cadence Design Systems, Inc. today announced it has been named a 2016 UBM Americas Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards winner in the Design Team of the Year category for its Palladium® Z1 enterprise emulation platform. The awards program honors the people and companies behind the technologies and products that are changing the world of electronics.
The winners were announced at an awards ceremony on Wednesday, December 7, at the San Jose Convention Center during the Embedded Systems Conference Silicon Valley.
The Cadence® Palladium Z1 enterprise emulation platform is the industry's first datacenter-class emulation system, which delivers up to 5X greater emulation throughput than the previous generation, with an average 2.5X greater workload efficiency than the closest competitor. With enterprise-level reliability and scalability, the Palladium Z1 platform supports up to 2304 parallel users and scales up to 9.2 billion gates, addressing the growing market requirement for emulation technology that can be efficiently utilized across global design teams to verify increasingly complex systems on chip (SoCs).
"The Palladium Z1 enterprise emulation platform design team was tasked with moving emulation into the datacenter, enabling new levels of virtualization that were previously not available to the market," said Daryn Lau, corporate vice president and general manager of hardware system verification in the System & Verification Group at Cadence. "We successfully delivered a hardware and software system that is truly vertically integrated from the IP to the SoC to the software stack. This prestigious ACE award recognition from UBM Americas recognizes the strength of the Cadence team that collaborated on the development of the platform, which has already helped many customers overcome previous emulation challenges."
"We're excited to honor this robust group for their dedication to their craft and efforts in bettering the industry for years to come," said Nina Brown, VP Events, UBM Americas. "The judging panel was given the difficult task of selecting winners from an incredibly talented group of finalists and we'd like to thank all of those participants for their amazing work and also honor their achievements. These awards aim to shine a light on the best in today's electronics realm and this group is the perfect example of excellence within both an important and complex industry."
