CCE announces the immediate availability of an updated version of its CAT5Works product that supports the latest version of SOLIDWORKS.
CAT5Works is a bi-directional SOLIDWORKS /CATIA data translator, which enables CATIA file translation from within SOLIDWORKS. The latest version of CAT5Works is compatible with SOLIDWORKS 2014 through 2017 on 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7/8/8.1/10 systems.
CAT5Works enables seamless design collaboration between CATIA V5 / CATIA V4 and SOLIDWORKS systems. CAT5Works imports CATIA V5 Release 6 to 26 part (*.CATPart)/ assembly (*.CATProduct) files to SOLIDWORKS, and exports SOLIDWORKS files to CATIA V5 part (*.CATPart) / assembly (*.CATProduct)/ shape (.CATShape) files.
“It’s important for CCE to keep pace with its customer base as they transition to the latest version of SOLIDWORKS. Year after year, we have consistently met our goal of updating our software timed very close to general availability of the CAD update. This new CAT5Works release is a way for us to demonstrate our continued commitment to our customers who need high-quality and reliable data translation between CATIA and SOLIDWORKS,” said Vinay Wagle, CCE's Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
CAT5Works supports batch translations for convenient handling of bulk data. It also supports the transfer of CATIA V5 FT&A entities (texts, tolerances, datums and symbols) into SOLIDWORKS. CATIA data can be filtered based on entity types and layer nos. before conversion into SOLIDWORKS. Support for CATIA V5 attributes was enhanced to provide feature names for geometric entities including solids, sheets, reference planes and co-ordinate systems.CAT5Works also exports SOLIDWORKS assemblies based on the Component Configurations.
