Integware will publish a new white paper, "Process to On-Board Acquisitions into an Enterprise PLM Architecture," early this week. White paper author and director of PLM at Integware, Graciella Beyers, describes strategies for integrating PLM software and maximizing acquisitions' benefits. The publication will be available to the public on Integware's official website.
The white paper addresses three main concerns. First, Beyers outlines requirements for the enterprise PLM infrastructure. Using these guidelines, companies will be able to quickly and efficiently assess current systems and determine whether they need to make any adjustments before installing PLM software. Next, "Process to On-Board Acquisitions" details strategies for product development and ongoing value assessment with combined efforts from business, process, and IT leaders. Finally, the Integware white paper will take an in-depth look at the specific tools, maps, and data flow charts used to track PLM.
"Process to On-Board Acquisitions into an Enterprise PLM Architecture," originally penned on February 16, asks companies new to PLM to carefully consider what is most important to product development and analysis. "There are several major steps that organizations pursuing acquisition strategies for continued growth need to consider to allow them to maximize the value of their acquisitions. The initial focus on integrating the finance and sales of the organization must not overshadow the need to ensure that the acquired IP is leveraged, and that a standard set of processes for both product lifecycle and quality processes are adhered to by all acquired companies."
Beyers, for example, advises against systems that are too narrow in scope. "A system that is overly rigid will be rejected and worked around by its users; it will almost certainly inhibit innovation," Integware writes. The online publication will offer more in-depth information about systems requirements, PLM implementation, and assessing the value PLM software.
