Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) recently invited CIMdata to its TCS Analyst Day 2023 in Boston. Mr. Kedar Shirali, Vice President and Global Head, Investor and Analyst Relations welcomed industry analysts from around the world with the day’s message of “Innovate, Adapt, and Thrive.” Mr. K. Krithivarian, newly named CEO of TCS, welcomed the analysts by video and spoke of the two new TCS Pace Ports inaugurated this year; TCS Pace Port Pittsburgh on the Carnegie Mellon University campus; and TCS Pace Port Toronto. The company’s Pace Ports are spaces that connect customers to all of TCS’ organizational capabilities in innovation, technology, and industry expertise.[1]

Mr. Suresh Muthuswami, Chairman of North America, gave opening remarks and noted that TCS headcount had reached over 614,000 employees during Fiscal Year 23 and a revenue of US$34.1 Billion. He stated that TCS is now the second largest IT provider in the US, with North America revenue representing 53% of TCS’ earnings.

In his Keynote address, Mr. Krishnan Ramanujam, President, Enterprise Growth Business at TCS, spoke of the seven industries that TCS addresses: BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, Insurance), Retail & CPG, Manufacturing, Media & Communication, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Travel & Hospitality, and Energy & Utilities.

Dr. Harrick Vin, TCS Fellow and Chief Services Innovation Officer, presented a view of the TCS Research and Innovation Ecosystem that drives TCS development. At its center the ecosystem positions computational science at the hub. Surrounding the hub, TCS places life sciences, behavioral, physical, and mathematical sciences. CIMdata views the TCS approach as comprehensive.

Mr. Milind Lakkad, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, followed and spoke of how TCS views the “workforce of the future.” He noted that TCS works with numerous universities to help set a curriculum conducive to TCS’ clients’ vision of future technology. The audience was surprised to hear that approximately 57% of TCS employees have joined the company after January 2020.

The remainder of the day was composed of speakers and panel discussions. Throughout the event, CIMdata recognized the competitive advantage TCS brings to its clients, not only of technical expertise but also knowledge of their business.
