Article in Hydrocarbon Engineering Highlights Bilfinger Berger’s Botany Port Successes in Australia Using COADE CADWorx Plant Design Software
COADE announced that the company’s CADWorx Plant Design Suite is featured in a July 2009 article in Hydrocarbon Engineering magazine that discusses how Bilfinger Berger Services (BBS) used the software to improve project collaboration, eliminate errors and save time, reducing project costs by 60% on the US$50 million Vopak fuel terminal project. The project is part of the third phase of Botany port expansion, described as one of the largest port projects undertaken in Australia in the last 30 years. BBS was involved in the design of five large storage tanks.
The article describes how BBS benefitted from the many advanced capabilities and tools in the CADWorx Plant Design Suite, including the automatic production of isometric drawings and the easy export of the design from CADWorx to CAESAR II for stress analysis. They also benefitted from the program’s intelligent and easy 3D steel modeling capabilities and the easy collaboration and review among stakeholders of 3D plant and ancillary models.
